In the Weaver's Hand

  • Alyth Alyth Gardens London, England, NW11 7EN United Kingdom (map)

"And all the women that were wise hearted did spin with their hands [...] of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen." (Exodus 35:25)

In the ancient World, weaving was often considered a sacred and magical act, worthy of wonder and mythology. In the modern World, some of us rediscover these crafts for pleasure, and find a meditative, spiritual quality in the flow and focus required.

This session will involve some learning about the holiness of weaving in Jewish oral and written histories, and a practical activity to see if we can find meditation in the act of it.

Weaving experience/skill not required.
